This great egret (Ardea alba) is flying over the skies of Florida. This bird happens to be in breeding plumage. I used a slower shutter speed to convey motion since the bird was in flight.
This Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo) is one of my favorites. I love the pose. This is the largest owl in the world.
This hummingbird feeding at a flower is one of my photo paintings. The bird was in Madera Canyon, Arizona.
This lone sandhill crane is seen taking flight from a pond at Bosque del Apache, National Wildlife Refuge in Central, New Mexico.
This great egret is actually fishing, but the bird looks like it is studying its reflection. I made this image at Little Estero Lagoon, on Fort Myers Beach, Fl.
The barn swallow (Hirundo rustica) is one of my favorite Passeriformes. They are absolutely stunning and watching a kettle of swallows in flight is mesmerizing.
This is blast off from the main pond at Bosque del Apache, National Wildlife Refuge - thousands of snow geese and Ross's geese.
This is a green jay (Cyanocorax yncas) in a field of flowers in southern Texas.
This is a rufous hummingbird (Selasphorus rufus) on the hunt for some sugar water in Madera Canyon, AZ.
I am starting a new feature here at Avian Beauty. Each Wednesday I will post one of my bird images - just for enjoyment.
